Following on from the tremendous success of Maritime Ipswich where 55,000 people attended, an exciting programme of activities and Ipswich events are being put together by Ipswich Borough Council in partnership with a number of organisations for a fantastic programme of activities for 'Maritime Ipswich' 2013 Maritime Festival here on Ipswich Waterfront in Suffolk. Come and Visit Ipswich....Celebrate Ipswich through great events making it the region's premier Waterfront Town.

Maritime 2011 - 55,000 !!!!!!!
Ipswich is a fantastic Maritime Town......... our biggest problem is we don't shout about it enough! It was great to see people wearing stickers saying "I love Ipswich".
This weekend we did shout and the Maritime
Ipswich event attracted over 55,000 visitors for a fantastic weekend
of activities for the whole family - and being a FREE festival made
it even better!! This event showed that Ipswich is a great
place to come to!
This event was organised by Ipswich Borough Council (big thanks to the events team!) in association with Ipswich Central, Ipswich Waterfront Action, Ipswich Maritime Trust, ABP and OLD Gaffers.

Maritime Ipswich is celebrating all things nautical, this exciting free festival
brings together Ipswich's Waterfront maritime past, present and future.
Maritime Ipswich says "Welcome Aboard" for this Maritime
Ipswich celebration and join us on the Ipswich Quayside, Docks and Waterfront at Ipswich
and for a celebration or maritime traditions, with open-air
performances and entertainment set against a backdrop of
traditional, classic and working vessels.
From 10am to 6pm on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August
2011, visitors can enjoy a range of activities right along
Ipswich Waterfront, from Stoke Bridge to Orwell Quay.
Discover visiting vessels, period and modern re-enactments,
dance performances, displays and stalls, live traditional
music, food and drink festival, fireworks and much more.
Maritime Ipswich 2011 will
incorporate the CAMRA Ipswich Beer Festival which will feature a
wide range of local beer and ciders, plus some specially brewed
beers with a nautical theme! The beer festival will run from
Thursday 18th until Sunday 22nd August.
Over the course of the weekend there will be period re-enactments,
displays, stalls, live traditional music, fireworks and more!
Twenty stalls selling local produce will form part of a new Ipswich
Waterfront Food Festival Market which will be open on the Saturday
and Sunday.
